World renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright has designed many things both great and small. Everything from skyscrapers to the smallest household items. When Wright designs a home, he doesn’t just design the house, he designs all the things inside the home from furnishings to lighting fixtures. The Bogk House Wall Clock was created to mimic a lighting fixture designed for the conservatory of the Frederick C. Bogk residence in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

The modern designed Bogk House Wall Clock has a similar Prairie Style design and closely reflects the look and feel of the Bogk House. It has a retro elegance and modern style that blends well even in a more traditional home’s decor. It has a clean, linear design that is representative of the Prairie Style of design.

The frame is lacquered in a clear finish that allow the natural warmth of the alder wood that the clock is constructed with. The square face of the clock is simple and devoid of numbers, instead using small brown squares to designate the 15 minute marks. There are broad, easy to read hands and a delicate second hand that picks up the Prairie Style with a small square design element. A wooden pendulum moves back and forth behind the square bars of the alder wood cage. Although the Bogk House Wall Clock has a pendulum like a mechanical driven clock, the clock actually runs on battery power and a good quality and accurate quartz movement.

The amazing modern Clock No.3 by Vincent Leman looks like the kind of clock you might find gracing the background of your favorite Dr. Seuss book. This whimsical and wonderful wood wall clock has a slight resemblance to a more traditional pendulum wall clock that has been warped and distorted into a cartoon version of itself. The clock face and pendulum look like it has been drawn on with the thick and thin style of a calligrapher’s pen and there isn’t a straight line in the entire clock.

The frame of this modern wall clock is painted in a bright tangerine color that adds to the cartoon effect while the light natural birch finish of the background makes it easy to read the clock face. The face is actually engraved into the birch panel to give it dimension and then painted in black acrylic to make it stand out. It has a quartz movement with a classically styled hour and minute hand, there is no second hand. It is about 31″ tall and 13″ wide at its widest and hangs at a depth of 2″ off of the wall giving it a great feeling of dimension.

This fun and funky wall clock is the creation if artist and furniture maker Vincent Leman, owner of the Valparaiso Indiana based Dust Furniture and creative inventor of his own signature abstract style of design that is firmly based in the traditional but with his own distinct and amusing slant.

Here is a cool and fun wooden wall clock from the creative mind of Japanese artist Emi Ozawa. Known for her whimsical ornaments,colorful boxes and artistically shaped clocks hand cut from wood and painted with a cool modern color palette, Ozawa has created a wonderful, dimensional wall clock that is fun and unique.

The bottom layer of this oval-shaped wall clock is painted in alternating black and red-orange while the bold and modern numbers pop out from a circular shaped face painted in white making them easy to read against the colored background. The numbers are situated at odd angles and stand out from the rear body of the clock just a bit adding to the playful nature of this awesome wooden wall clock. The triangular-shaped hands are black, bold and easy to see from a distance and the clock movement featured a sweeping second-hand.
